PostSubject: Elf out of water   Fri Dec 05, 2008 8:17 am

Back at the beginning. Back and the start.

He had first glimpsed her here; and somehow that was what drove his feet on to this place. HELL, he honestly did not remember how he had gotten here, two failed portal-passages, and one long wistful thought had honestly landed him upside down in the equipment room. But let’s not go over his trials and tribulations. OR his failures to figure out how to cast that spell reliably…..

Mundane frockery had NOT agreed with his sensibilities much either, so even though he was sitting near the Olympic sized swimming pool he was in linen wrap pants, a soft cotton swordsman’s shirt and a heavy leather kidney belt. On his right hip was a very intricately tooled leather pouch with more modern locking closure, but oddly on his left hip he bore a very fancy strait bladed short sword in a once again tooled sheath. His feet were in black leather soft-soled boots and his seeming was blatantly disregarded.

That of course meant that he was standing there at a height of six foot three, with cascading long violet locks running down his back in intricate braids that nearly reached his belt. Beads and small rings of brass and silver were working into the braiding, and even what looked like a coin or two. But that still was not the fantastical part of his seeming being dropped. What stood out the easiest were his extremely long pointed Elven ears.

To be honest in THIS school they probably were not that uncommon. For a time a Demon taught students here. How strange would an elf be? But it seemed that most placed he went he got stared at if his illusionary guise was not up. But for some reason to day he had just been alone so much that he had not bothered with it.

Moving around the pool, he stood near the deep end on the far side. It was around lunchtime. So no students were here with him though the floor was still wet from the last class that left. He could still feel the emotions they had permeated this room with. It made him smile. But as he neared the place he eventually stopped, just ten feet form the ladder, he grew more solemn. This was the place he had seem her with him first… Damned Riley Simmons. There had to be something he could do wasn’t there? Some way of making her want him, some way to bring his love back? To make her know how he felt… Nothing came to mind though

He moved on headed towards the bleachers nearby and sat down. His head hung low and his hands moved up to hold the weight of a guilty brow. Why was he so drawn to her? It wasn’t like he ever felt that way about any other of his masters… But her. DAMN that Dashelle line! They brought him such misery. Such confusion. What he needed was not her, he needed a distraction. He had thought he found the perfect one. But once she knew whose’ her was she was gone.. A bridge burned not by lies or evil deed,, but killed but truth… Maybe he should become devious again. She loved him more when he was cruel. When he was less caring… But how could he do that?

It was lunch time, but Melody didn’t feel like eating lunch with everyone else, nor did she have car she could go off campus and get something. A lot of kids did that as far as she knew. She was done with her classes for the day, so she was going to lay around the pool and just enjoy herself. She had already stopped by her room and dropped off her backpack and other odds and ends she had, and put on her suit, and a long tee shirt on top of that. Her flip flops smacked the floor with every step she took, her towel around her neck. Her long feline ears perched high on her head, as her long feline tail flicking joyfully behind her. She was like most felines, she wasn’t scared of water any more. Her mom had taken care of that whenever she was younger.

She gleefully pranced to the door of the pool area, pushing it open she pranced on in. Stopping dead in her tracks she saw Tristan just standing there, she tilted her head to the side, then back up, then down to the other side. “ sorry, I didn’t know someone was already in here” she turned around to leave, but decided against it, she needed to know where she knew him from, it had been bugging her ever since she saw him in magic class. Taking a few steps toward him she whispered softly “ Mister Tristan, sir… humm…. Do I know you from somewhere other then Magic class?” she was just a hairs breath of the pool. Slowly she sat down and let her long tail and feet enter the water, a quick shiver ran over her, the water was like ice. She brought her midnight blue eyes back to him, a look of total innocents on her face. She knew she couldn’t place him, but she hoped maybe he could place her.

Plip-plop, plip-plop came the sound of feet. Yet the Sidhe did not mask his presence in any way. He had neither reason to hide or care to bother, he was here to think, and thinking was keeping him occupied enough that he barely noted the sounds of the incoming student. Though the sound of the opening door had caught his momentarily oblivious ear and he turned to look. Her words made him smile. The spell was still holding, else, she would not be worried in his presence. Well not worried in this manner anyways.

“No, no, Melody. Please Come in. I was…”

His words trailed off. He honestly WASN’T sure why he was here. That happened a lot it seemed. but oh well he was getting used to it. So far, it had not been a bad thing; though her question made him wonder if that luck was finally changing. How did he answer her this? How did he tell her they were lovers one night, or where it had happened? He couldn’t simple shrug her off could he? No that was not him. it had never been his way, and he was certainly not going to let it start now.

With a careful and extremely graceful gait, he moved around the pool towards her as he spoke. He was not certain what he was going to say. But maybe he could let the truth slip?

“Miss St. Claire. I… We know more about one another then I am sure how to express…Yes we met By chance a little time ago. Before I was allowed to begin teaching here. I was lost, and you bored. We shared .. A dream. A lasting dream where inhibitions were as fleeting as memories of the first snows from our childhoods.”

He had made his way over to her and dropped to a squatting position beside her. he seemed troubled by how to continue telling her of events that had unfolded between them. part of him knew she would get mad, but part of him hoped she would grow to feel the same again that she did in their longing, and heartfelt embrace. However, he knew the feelings of first love, and the innocence of the first time could never be repeated

Nervously his hand would move up to her cheek. To offer a soft touch before slipping to run through her hair if allowed. And ever so carefully he would try to chip away at part of the spell he had placed on her before. Hopefully it broke gently and took more then this one touch . if it was even allowed in the first place

She watched him move over to her. Her head tilted to the side slightly. What did he mean? She didn’t understand it. She closed her eyes and thought, thought, and thought so more. She was never going to get this, it seemed. She didn’t jump when he touched her cheek, or ran down her hair. She just couldn’t place him for the live of her. She opened her eyes and looked to him. “I just don’t understand, how come I can’t get this” her legs and tail were just floating around in the pool, lifting and sinking, lifting and sinking. Slowly a piece of the spell broke away. Then another, and another. Everything was starting to become clearer and clearer.

She was washing her clothes, trying to get ready for the school week. She remembered hearing a noise from behind her. In her minds eye she tuned around, and saw him standing there. He looked almost tasty in her memories. He kissed her, and she kissed him back. Moving over to the table, they made love. Sweet romantic love, the kind you read about in books, or watch play out on the big sliver screen. They had been lovers.

She opened her eyes and looked at him, he was her first and she couldn’t even remember it. “Tristan” she said softly, almost scared of her own voice. She wasn’t sure what to say to him, she wasn’t even totally sure that her thoughts, her memories were her own. She was unsure of what to do, or think. “ I …. “ how does she tell him she remembered who he was. The only part she couldn’t remember for the life of her was, why they weren’t together. If she felt so powerful towards him, enough to sleep with him, enough to give him something she can never take back, why weren’t they together? Was it something she said, something he did? “why don’t I remember?” Even now that thoughts she had were scarce and foggy.

She turned to took at him, her eyes finding his. “ please tell me, what happened” She reached out and tried to touch his long ears, if allowed she would trail her fingers down his neck and rest at his collar bone. If not allowed she was lay her hands on her lap and just look at him, wondering, waiting. “I need to know”

“A spell is on you. The harder you try to remember everything the more it will vanish.”

He did not yet tell her that he himself enchanted her so. But that was only because he was not certain how to admit to that deed. At the time, he was planning on seeking her out as often as possible. Nurturing what had bloomed and trying to use that joy to help her discard her shyness, and open her like a bloomed flower. Then Stepping back to watch the wonder of her self assured raise up to the heavens.. But now that seemed all a flight of fancy. But instead, he had done her evil, Tempted her and knowing took that which she was saving for a beloved encounter. He had wronged her.

Then he felt the spell ship away. The bindings on her heart and mind slipped off like an over sized belt. Falling faster and faster, he could do nothing but hope her anger did not find him soon. Once she remembered who he belonged to she was going to be mad, and then mad at what they shared no doubt. He saw the remorse in her eyes, and knowing he was about to open himself up to the fairing squad he answered her honestly.

“You don’t remember us, because I locked up the memories…… I hid them from you. What we shared was so perfect, so wonderful. But.. It ended in flames. Love scorned and demolished by evil unknown of in our first embrace.. When I told you who, and what I am, you grew mad. Grew to rapidly despise what we had done. I never meant to hurt you. But I fear, I failed. I did inadvertently cause you grief.. I.. I am sorry Melody… I truly am. I cast the spell to erase what was done so that you could live on with out knowing.. And then.. Fall for someone, more deserving without having to know another had done you wrong.”

The sorrow he felt radiated from him like a chill, his eyes grew duller as he sat Indian styled next to her, no longer able to make eye contact after revealing the sin he committed knowingly on her. He was wrong to have used his charms as he had, and he was wrong to try and hid it from her later. Maybe it would have been better if Lillian had just left him in that cage. Left him there to rot until her Heir was born.

She didn’t know what to think or say. She had given him something she could never get back. Was she mad? No. More like shocked, she wasn’t sure how to deal with this. Lifted her hand, she tucked a few lose strands away from her eyes and behind her ear. How could he do something like this? He raped her, she might have been a willing participant at the time, but she was under a spell. He raped her, he took away her innocents.

Dropping her hands to next to her, she brought her feet out of the water and slowly stood up. She felt naked, she felt alone. This wasn’t what it should be like. Her first time should have been something romantic, something wonderful, something he stole from her and she could never get it back. “ How could you do something like that?!” she whispered softly, still trying to understand what happened. She didn’t want to look at him, she wanted nothing to do with him. She could feel the tear starting, wanting to fall.

They did, and they burned in her eyes. Slowly they fell, her cheeks wet with streaks now. She took a step back, needing to get away from him. With a quick miss step she tripped, or slipped, into the pool. A big splash reaching up a few feet into the air. On the way down, she gasped in a deep breath, mostly water after she hit.

Her arm’s flailed about, trying to get back to air. But she just sank, sank down like a rock. Hitting her head on the bottom of the pool. It was just 3 feet from the top to the bottom. She could feel where she hit, she blew out whatever breath she had inside of her, and gasped in another lung full of air. In the water, Tristan could see the blood start to gush from her head. Everything was starting to turn black, she felt sleepy. Perhaps a nap would do her good, was the last thought before she rested at the bottom of the pool. She had passed out, and underwater.

He felt her mood change. She was mad, and accusing. He had felt that emotion before. And last time it was directed his way too. Time had taught him silence was not a good option often. But he knew not what to say to keep her from getting as mad as he was fairly certain she was going to get. Yet all he could do was sit there, and accept he had done a great wrong. She deserved to be mad at him. and he felt he really might deserve the punishment. He had not made as wise a choice as he had thought. and now it was going to bite him square in the rump.

“I…. It’s not what you’re thinking. I swear. I... Its just….”

She rose up and he saw the look that told him her tears were coming.. She would run off, run to the arms of a friend. And maybe that was best? Maybe him trying to console her was indeed a poor choice. Oh, he wished he understood youth. His eyes were downcast. Her feelings and his own guilt brought a single tear to his own eyes, his throat burned. And a lump had appeared in it to make swallowing harder then needed. His chest was tight…

Then he heard the startled shriek and opened his eyes just in time to see the giant splash His eyes went wide as she flailed. But she could swim right?

The white and bubbles parted before his eyes in slow motion, he felt her dread, then nothing. his eyes grew wider. And he did not think at all about the leather he was wearing. He did not think about the sword on his hip. He thought about nothing more then the need to help her he knew his help was the last thing she would want. But who else could save her now? Red tinged the water and he flashed to what he himself had done to his Lillian. Maybe he was cursed.

But that would not stop him. He jumped into the pool feet first and ducked under the shallow water towards her. He would wrap his arms around her and pull her up as he stood. Her chest pressed tightly to his own as he raised her up to the air she would no doubt need. But he would not stop there. as he rose her up grippign her tightly he would try to hold her and puller hair out of her face as he virtually screamed

“Melody! MEL answer me……. You’re gonna be okay”

He would struggle with her towards the edge. A sword in water was not an easy obstacle, but then again nor was an unconscious girl limp in your arms. He would get her to the side as fast as he could and do his best not to panic at the scene they were in.

“Melody? Mel?”

He would place his hands over her lips she had to be breathing right? I mean.. She couldn’t die could she?

Swings, lunches, love, and bliss … her mind was away from her body. Since her body was now laying on the side of the pool. No breath, light pulse. At first, when she hit her head. It was like she could see herself, she watched as he jumped into the pool, saved her. But now, that was miles away and she was in her own little world. Dressed in a soft pink summer dress, she was just 12 years old again, and she was sitting in her favorite tire swing. Her father pushing her back and forth. Smiled and laughed streaming out from both them. ‘ Higher daddy, higher. I want to touch the stars!’ she giggled as her father pushed her harder, sending her higher and higher into the air. She closed her eyes and opened then again.

She was dressed a soft white top and blue jeans, a nice sweet young boy sitting across from her. Sharing a picnic lunch with her. This was her first date, whenever she was 14. He was handsome and sweet and ever so caring. He reached out and placed a strawberries on her lips, before her tongue wrapped around it, drawing the strawberry and his finger into her month. She giggled softly, blushing ever so hard. She leaned forward, slowly closing her eyes. She could feel his lips on hers. She blushed again. Slowly opening her eyes.

She was dressed in a baggy tee shirt and blue jeans. Across from her was Tristan, they were in the laundry room. She leaned again, kissing him again. She could feel his tongue running over hers. Almost like it was making love. She let out a loud moan. Wanting more from him, wanting everything she could get. In the next instant she was naked and on the table. He was buried deep inside of her, making her writhe and wiggle in pleasure. He was loving her, like no man had ever loved her before. She wanted him, wanted everything he could give her. She leaned back and closed her eyes. Then she felt nothing, opening her eyes.

She was dressed in all white, from head to toe. Was she dead? She looked all around her, nothingness. Bleak nothingness. She screamed out ‘HELLO!’ she started to run, the floor under her feet was gone. How am I walking?! How could I be here?! She felt a shock in her system. She cried out in pain. Tears streamed down her face. She fell, not landing anywhere. She kept falling, and falling. She felt free.

Her body back in front of Tristan she drew in a deep gasp of breath before she coughed up a lung full of water. She rolled onto her left side. Coughing up more water, her breath ragged, her body shook. Her head still bleeding, a small puddle starting to form under her. She coughed again, and closed her eyes. Praying when she woke again she’d still be here. She coughed harder and started to gag. She leaned forward and threw up. A sob racked through her body, as well a shiver. She laid her head back down, making sure to stay clear of the puke. She just laid there, trying to catch her breath. Lord… today was just not her day.

Once at the edge of the pool he would lift her out, but not bother getting out himself. He knew she had taken at least one breath full of water. He needed. To. WHAT did he need to do? He felt her slipping, but he knew very little about some things. And CPR was one of them… he did what he saw in TV shows.. They would not lie to him right?

He pressed his finger to pinch her nose and then his lips over hers…. he just had to breathe a few breaths then hit her in the chest… That couldn’t be THAT hard could it? He took in deep breath, pressed his lips over hers, and blew. Her lungs moved and he heard a sick squishy nose as he pulled away to take in another breath and repeat cycle. Three breaths in he laced his fingers together. Palm to back of hand and … Well he pressed.. He wasn’t really sure how this worked. But so far TV had help him in the past.. Maybe this time would work in his favor?

Two, three, four heavy presses, and only rewarded with a gross gurgling noise… SHIT, what was he going to do? He was silently praying to what ever great god thing it was that might chose to listen to him as he pinched her nose and moved in for another good long lung inflation..

But then she moved… Drew her own deep breath.. And promptly started gagging and choking. Tristan drew away else he get hit and his own foolish arse sink in the pool. She was coughing and choking which was at least something.. And she rolled onto her side and puked a bit… not a reaction they showed on television ever. But he was not complaining. When she tried to lay there and just get over her near death experience he did what any other love sick idiot would do .. With plenty of emphasis on idiot.

He leaned in and would try his hardest to wrap her in a giant hug, puller upright, and SQUEEZE her better… hugs fixed everything right? but after that his reaction whither or not the hug was successful went a bit erratic… after the try for a long heart warming hug he would try to grab hold of her shoulders. And shake lightly…

“DON’T DO THAT! NEVER, EVER, EVER AGAIN.. OKAY Gods I don’t Age but heart attacks are NOT my friend……”

He was acting out what ought to be the lovers role.. well not maybe the manly caring nurturing role.. But it was A role right? Only after the attempted shaking and yelling was it that he would more then likely very unsuccessfully offer her another near body squishing hug as he cried onto her shoulder… he was panicked. Shaking. And riddled with fear. And.. to be VERY honest. Not accustomed to the whole “death thing”

She coughed a few times more, feeling his arms around her. She sighed softly, and leaned against him. Dragging in deep breaths. She just kept herself again him, crying loudly. She was scared, she almost died. She wanted to thank him, but wasn’t sure she could get enough breath to speak the words. So she just kept herself against him. She felt weak, and started to slip back into the pool. With a loud scream she ended up in the pool again. But since his arms were around her she stayed above the water.

Her head throbbing and her legs were weak. She couldn’t stand under her own power. She reached out quickly and tried to wrap her arms around his neck. If allowed to she would hold herself against him. Her head was still bleeding, but she didn’t care, or even really know. The drops ended up in the pool a small ring of her blood was all around them. She needed to see a doctor and soon. She could feel her self slipping away again. To much blood loss.

Again she was gone, she slumped against him. Her eyes were glassed over and her breathing slow and steady. She was once again depending on him. If he wanted to he could let her go and she would sink like a rock to the bottom of the pool, never to come back up for air again. Or he could bring her to the nurses area and get treaded, or back to her dorm room since he knew where that was. Her heart was beating at a very slow pace, slower then normal. Her long tail floated next to her in the pool. The blood leaking from her head a bit faster now. If he didn’t hurry and do something she might not ever be able to tell him how she felt about him. And he would have to buy flowers for her funeral

Her body spammed in a few coughs. But she drew no more breathe then needed. So his questions, complaints, and rants were left for later. But at least she held onto him back, that simple gesture reassured him enough that his own heart rate was going to start going back down a bit. When she shifted and shrieked he held on tighter. Arms under hers he would support her weight as best he was able as she panicked.

But as she settled down knowing he would not drop her he smiled. This was getting better. Now to just get her out of the pool again. Her arms were allowed to freely wrap around him any where she wanted as he began trying to move both of them out of the water and towards the steps. But then she released. And her body gained like eighty pounds as she went limp.

He almost dropped her while he fidgeted. But eventually he got her in a carryable position. And neither of them had to breath water for it to happen. So now with her limply in his arms he made for the steps swiftly as one was able to do in a pool and he moved out. He knew she couldn’t really hear him but he spoke anyways.

“Shhh, it will all be okay my little rose.. I wont let you wither.”

He moved towards the doorframe leaving everything she had had with her in there. fortunately all her really important things were either in her room or her locker. So really, she was out a flip flop and her towel. The shirt was still on her giving false modesty and collecting blood. And the missing flop was in the pool. As he neared the doorway he tapped on the frame twice. Then he dragged his fingers over it as if he was writing.

A moment later he kicked open the door and walked through it.
